Open range horseback riding over the ranches is one of the most popular ranch activities of our guests. Horses are available for all skill levels from beginners to accomplished riders.

The rolling hills of Lonesome Pine Ranch with vistas of over 20 miles provide views of Texas ranch country unparalleled anywhere. In the springtime, meadows covered in blankets of bluebonnets and wildflowers seem to stretch on forever. Beautiful native pecan bottoms, live springs, limestone outcrops and tall prairie grasses make horseback riding over the ranch a favorite.

OUR RANCH HORSES

Get to know our guest herd! We have over 40 horses on the ranches: mares, studs, colts and geldings in various stages of life...breeding, training, active work, showing or retirement. But our guest herd consists of American Quarter Horse geldings who are some of our most experienced and highly trained ranch horses, chosen specifically for their responsiveness, reliability, athleticism and gentle temperaments.
