Wildlife Preservation

Texas Ranch Life and John and Taunia Elick have been honored by the United States Secretary of the Interior for their efforts in wildlife preservation and habitat creation.  We practice responsible game management in all of our hunting efforts, and follow the Texas Parks and Wildlife guidelines and recommendations for our area of central Texas.

The baby turkeys were hatched in our incubators this Spring and will be released into the wild with adult turkeys to learn how to survive and assimilate into the wild.

Greenhouse and Garden Cultivation

We have 5 organic gardens at Texas Ranch Life and a greenhouse where we grown vegetables and flowers to be used at the ranch.

Our gardens and greenhouse are watered by conserved rain water collected from the ranch.  We also cultivate lakes and ponds to naturally provide irrigation to the ranch as well as create a beautiful environment for recreating.

Open Range Grazing and Humane Animal Practices

The livestock at Texas Ranch Life enjoy the most humane way of life, which for them, is the natural way of way that exists in wild.

We Recycle to Protect our Environment

At Texas Ranch Life we recycle in all our facilities and offer our guests the opportunity to do the same, so that we can have the smallest impact possible on our environment.

Our ranch was founded on the principle of recycling in that 8 of our houses were saved from demolition when Taunia moved them to the ranch and restored them.  At Texas Ranch Life we value responsible living and the preservation of Texas History.
